BERG: Wozzeck (opera in concert)

Pre-concert lecture by Robert Marx at 6:45 in the Stanley H. Kaplan Penthouse

Esa-Pekka Salonen conducts a rare concert performance of Alban Berg's extraordinary opera Wozzeck, joined by baritone Simon Keenlyside in the title role.

“Keenlyside captured the character’s danger and vulnerability even in the way he moved across the stage. It was a magnificent performance of one of opera’s greatest anti-heroes.”
Daily Telegraph on Simon Keenlyside as Wozzeck

There is no late seating.
This performance is approximately one hour and 40 minutes long, with no intermission.
Symphonic Masters is made possible by generous support from the Leon Levy Foundation and endowment support from UBS.
